NASDAQ Composite Index

The NASDAQ Composite Index, often referred to simply as NASDAQ, is a major stock index comprising over 3,000 companies listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange, including many leading technology and biotech companies. The index was launched in 1971 and reflects the performance of both large and small companies, making it a broad measure of the overall performance of the technology sector.
In contrast to the DJIA, which is a price-weighted index, the NASDAQ Composite is a market capitalization-weighted index, which means that companies with a higher market capitalization have a greater influence on the index. It is regarded as a barometer for the technology sector and shows the economic dynamics in the technological and innovative sector. The NASDAQ Composite is traded on the NASDAQ stock exchange, which is known for its high concentration of technology companies.

In this category here, we look a little further outside the box and offer passionate stock market traders the opportunity to set the index level of the Nasdaq Composite Index in relation to a particularly important date - in this case, their own birthday. Have fun testing - and feel free to give us feedback or suggestions for improvement.

On this page you can quickly and easily get an overview of the current price level at which the Nasdaq Composite Index is currently moving in relation to selected time units. The data is compiled with great care and subjected to quality checks at regular intervals. At a technical level, a large number of calculations sometimes require highly complex process sequences that have been designed to correspond to the respective data processing concept. If you notice inconsistencies during use, it is highly likely that this is only a temporary restriction. If this assumption is not confirmed and the view displays incorrect or incomplete data for a period longer than 24 hours, please inform us via the 'Report a Bug' function above the footer.
