Bremen, 11. Oktober 2022 – The SDAX-listed Energiekontor AG (ISIN DE0005313506, General Standard), one of Germany's leading project developers and operators of wind and solar farms, has sold the "Niederzier-Steinstraß" wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia with a total generation capacity of around 8.25 MW to the Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG-Group. The wind farm has already been in operation since the end of September 2017 and was previously held within Energiekontor's own portfolio. With an annual electricity generation of around 2 GWh, the wind farm saves around 23,000 tonnes of climate-damaging CO2 per year and covers the average annual energy demand of more than 7,000 households. Energiekontor AG will continue to be responsible for the technical management of the wind farm. With the sale, Energiekontor is taking advantage of an attractive market opportunity to optimise its own portfolio of wind and solar parks, which will continue to be expanded as planned in the coming years. The sale also once again highlights the high proportion of hidden reserves held by the Energiekontor-Group through the wind and solar parks held in the Company's own portfolio. The wind farm "Niederzier-Steinstraß" was put into operation in September 2017 and is located in the municipality of Niederzier in the district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia. The park consists of three wind turbines from the manufacturer General Electric. The wind turbines have a rotor diameter of around 120 metres and a hub height of around 139 metres. The total generation capacity is around 8.25 MW. The wind farm has a guaranteed EEG feed-in tariff until the end of 2037. The buyer of the wind farm is the Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG - group of companies, which had already acquired a solar farm project from Energiekontor in October 2021. "With the sale, we are taking advantage of an attractive market opportunity to optimise the wind and solar parks held in our own portfolio. The sale will remain an exception though as our strategy is set clear, we will continue to expand our own portfolio as planned in the next months and coming years. Also in August 2022, we took over another wind farm with a total generation capacity of around 27 MW into our own portfolio. Other projects that shall be transferred into our own portfolio are at the planning or, respectively, already under construction," Szabo continues.
