Acquisition boosts CENIT’s position as expert for end-to-end process digitalization and all-round SAP provider Stuttgart, July 6, 2023 – CENIT is continuing its growth strategy and expanding its competency as an SAP full-service provider: Effective July 6, 2023, Berlin-based PI Informatik GmbH will become a new member of CENIT Group. Among industry, logistics and public sector clients, PI Informatik has made a name for itself as a specialist for complex software development, SAP consulting services and as a long-term partner for managed services and IT infrastructure solutions. Since the company’s establishment in 1996, PI Informatik – a Microsoft Premium Partner – has earned a reputation for its expertise in several key IT fields: PI Informatic acts as a full-service provider for conceptualization and maintenance of SAP landscapes and as an experienced supplier of managed services for high-availability IT infrastructures. The agile mid-size company is also a proven partner to institutions and (large-scale) businesses in industrial software development including custom add-on applications. Its portfolio further extends to IT security and data privacy solutions. IP Informatik currently employs 30 staff. Strategic and operative synergies in process digitalization CENIT’s 100-percent acquisition of PI Informatik offers both sides strategic and operative potential: “The motivation for the merger between PI Informatik and CENIT centers on the conviction that pooling our strengths will generate added growth and new synergies for all member companies of CENIT Group. It’s a logical step on our path to becoming the go-to trusted advisor for sustainable digitalization”, says Peter Schneck, CEO of CENIT. “PI Informatik’s expertise lets us enhance the product and solutions portfolio of CENIT Group in several decisive respects. Operative collaboration on specific projects will boost our service capabilities and innovative strength in the field of process digitalization. Also, we will help each other access new customer, industry and partner segments. Furthermore, the acquisition offers CENIT a greater presence in the Berlin region. The proximity to federal agencies will help sharpen our focus on the public-sector market,” Schneck adds. The goal: SAP full-service provider A core objective of the acquisition is a product of CENIT Group’s plans to become a full-range provider of SAP-based solutions in the years to come. The SAP solutions spectrum of CENIT and its subsidiary Coristo currently focuses on the SAP PLM domain. Together, they have developed a number of software solutions that are globally available via the SAP price list. The deep and long-standing SAP knowhow of PI Informatik – particularly regarding S/4HANA solutions, complex implementation projects and management of SAP landscapes – represents an ideal complement to this portfolio and further boosts CENIT’s strong market position. Size and agility Upon completion of the merger, PI Informatik will continue to operate as an independent company under the current and future Managing Directors, Martin Fiedler and Mario Olschowski. The integration will find expression in the name affix “PI Informatik – a CENIT Company”, which also serves to indicate the increased performance capabilities that arise from the merger with respect to size and market position. “We look forward to the new, partnership-based collaboration between our enterprises. In terms of both technology and strategy we view our association with CENIT as an enabler for the continued success of CENIT Group and PI Informatik as a Group company”, says Martin Fiedler, Managing Director of PI Informatik. “This is an instance where size and agility can go hand in hand: Depending on the project and client constellation, we can still guarantee the quick and flexible approach typical of a small company, but reinforced by the market strength of an international business Group. Together, we will also continue to grow the Group’s technology and software competency and boost its innovation capability”, adds Mario Olschowski, Managing Director of PI Informatik.
