PWO becomes part of a strong and important alliance for the future of the region Dr. Cornelia Ballwießer (CFO): "We are entering into a strong alliance for climate protection with the Klimabündnis (Climate Alliance) of the State of Baden-Württemberg. Since we are very aware of the urgency of climate change we want to take responsibility together with others. As a global company, we also aim to drive forward the transformation of domestic industry and strengthen Germany as an industrial location."
Oberkirch / Valašské Meziříčí / Kitchener / Puebla / Suzhou / Oberkirch, March 2, 2023. The PWO Group has joined the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance. We are also committing to this alliance to reduce our CO2 emissions by 46.2 percent by 2030 according to Scope 1 & 2 and by 28.0 percent according to Scope 3. In a ceremonial setting with Thekla Walker, the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Energy Management of Baden-Württemberg, CFO Dr. Cornelia Ballwießer represented the PWO Group at the official joining of the Climate Alliance. After the welcoming speech, Rainer Baake from the Foundation Klimaneutralität (Climate Neutrality) explained the high importance of sustainable industrial transformation in a keynote speech. In addition to the ceremonial presentation of the certificate, the attendees took advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas and enjoyed the musical program provided by the string quartet from the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. PWO Group drives sustainable development As part of its framework "People. Planet. Progress.", the PWO Group is applying its innovative strength to sustainable development, reducing emissions in its own value chain, and developing as a value-driven company. Joining the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance represents a further building block in this comprehensive sustainability strategy and underpins the company's identity as a force for good in society. Last year's commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) sets concrete targets for driving forward the company's transformation. PWO also intends to pursue its path in line with the Paris climate targets through exchanges with other like-minded companies. To strengthen this exchange, we are a member of the United Nations Global Compact and part of the SDG Ambition Accelerator program. The PWO Group is also driving forward measures for energy-efficient production globally.
