Scout24 aims to be climate-neutral by 2025
Munich / Berlin, 9 September 2020 - Scout24 aims to become climate-neutral by 2025. By then, the digital company wants to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by around 60 percent compared to the base year 2018. In 2020, the company has already saved around 30 per cent in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2018, primarily by reducing energy consumption and switching to electricity from renewable energies. From 2025 on, Scout24 will compensate unavoidable CO2 emissions by supporting climate protection projects. "Even though Scout24 is not active in the manufacturing sector with substantial use of resources and complex supply chains, we are aware of our ecological responsibility. We have therefore made our impact on the environment and climate a focus topic for 2020 and set ourselves ambitious goals. In order to become climate-neutral by 2025, our approach is: avoid, reduce, compensate," says Tobias Hartmann, CEO of Scout24 AG.
