- Intershop N is an asset in the cloud - it offers fully automated scaling for customer's specific needs - Changed release policy: Intershop N replaces version numbers - Go-live planned for December 1, 2021 Jena, Germany, November 11, 2021 - Intershop Communications AG (ISIN: DE000A254211), a leading independent provider of innovative B2B commerce solutions, today announced the upcoming launch of its new platform generation, Intershop N. With this, the company creates a unique cloud-based asset and completes its technical cloud transformation initiative. Intershop N will initially be offered exclusively from the cloud, once again emphasizing Intershop's cloud-first approach. With Intershop N, the company offers its customers unique scaling options where the required infrastructure is provided fully automatically based on the required computing power. The platform uses Kubernetes software technology to orchestrate the application's individual ("Docker") containers. Maintenance-related downtimes are drastically reduced by Intershop N and monthly releases enable ongoing technical and functional optimizations. In times of rising cybercrime and therefore an increasing need for data protection, Intershop N will provide an infrastructure that is always state-of-the-art and secure. In addition, the next generation platform supports a headless commerce approach, which gives customers speed and flexibility allowing them to use both custom and Intershop's own Progressive Web App (PWA) as a customer portal for client interaction. Markus Klahn, CEO of Intershop: "Intershop N stands for neu, new or nuevo - it works in any language and reflects our global approach. With this new generation of our commerce platform, we are completely cloud-native and offer real added value for our customers, backed up by our usual high commitment to quality. Whether it's peaks during a Black Friday promotion or volatile transactions throughout the day, Intershop N scales one hundred percent autonomously and offers absolute stability and full performance at all times." With the new platform generation, Intershop is breaking with the traditional release policy and will permanently update Intershop N in the cloud. The go-live is planned for December 1, 2021. New customers will then be implemented on Intershop N. Existing customers already operating can plan to upgrade to Intershop N starting in the second quarter of 2022.

In the early stages, these are experimental functionalities whose development process is largely determined by use and the resulting feedback from the community.
