Press Release

JOLT ENERGY AND IMO CAR WASH PARTNER TO OFFER WASHING, VACUUMING, AND FAST CHARGING AT A SINGLE LOCATION

Munich & Mühlheim an der Ruhr, November 5, 2024 JOLT Energy, a leading provider of urban fast-charging stations, and IMO Car Wash, the world’s largest car wash company, are partnering to introduce co-located services. The collaboration aims to enhance the appeal of IMO locations by offering electric vehicle drivers a complete "one-stop experience." In addition to washing and vacuuming, customers at select locations will soon be able to enjoy ultra-fast charging. With added services such as package stations, this partnership creates added value for customers by meeting all mobility and convenience needs in one place. IMO Car Wash benefits from a new revenue stream without the need for direct investment, as JOLT finances, installs, and operates the charging infrastructure.

JOLT’s Strategy: Building High-Power Charging Clusters in European Metropolises

JOLT's long-term vision is to establish a network of high-power charging clusters in European cities. With battery-backed High Power Charging (HPC) systems providing up to 300 kW of charging power, designed for minimal space requirements and no need for extensive grid upgrades, JOLT offers a flexible, scalable solution for urban environments. By partnering with private sites like car washes, gas stations, supermarkets, office buildings, and public spaces with municipalities, JOLT is creating clusters of inner-city fast-charging stations. Alongside Germany and the Netherlands, JOLT has also recently expanded to Stockholm as of October.

“Our fast-charging infrastructure is essential for accelerating the shift to electromobility in urban areas,” says Maurice Neligan, CEO of JOLT Energy. “This partnership with IMO Car Wash presents a unique opportunity to add value for IMO Wash customers while expanding our charging network. Customers now have even more reasons to visit IMO locations - not just for washing and vacuuming but also for fast, reliable EV charging at attractive rates via the JOLT app.”

Pilot Project at Five Locations with Future Expansion

The pilot phase will launch with fast-charging installations at five IMO Car Wash locations in Berlin, Dresden, and the western Ruhr area. The goal is to expand this concept to additional locations next year. This partnership allows IMO Car Wash to make efficient use of available, unused site space without major technical requirements, providing a competitive advantage.

Thanks to easily installed charging technology, implementation is swift: from site selection to operational readiness often takes as little as six months. IMO Car Wash gains a competitive edge over conventional car washes by enhancing service offerings without additional effort. “We are pleased to partner with JOLT, a trusted and reliable partner that supports us in future-proofing our locations with EV charging services,” said a Carsten Karasch, Managing Director Germany from IMO Car Wash.

By 2025, JOLT plans to expand its cooperation with IMO Car Wash into additional urban areas across Germany to meet the growing demand for fast-charging infrastructure and advance urban electromobility.
