Institutional investors and selected high net worth individuals traditionally have the opportunity to invest in private hedge funds. These funds are usually associated with high fees, high minimum investment amounts and long lock-up periods. Gotham funds are a series of long/short equity hedge funds offered in the form of mutual funds. The funds are managed by Gotham Asset Management under the direction of Joel Greenblatt and Robert Goldstein, who together have over 50 years of experience in managing hedge funds.
All Gotham funds are based on the same investment philosophy, process and research as Gotham Asset Management's private funds. The Gotham funds are not a diluted version of our institutional offerings.

The investment philosophy of the Gotham funds is simple, straightforward and consistent. The long and short equity portfolios for the funds are selected on the basis of a proprietary analysis and valuation model. The process begins with comprehensive research aimed at evaluating all companies within the research universe of large and mid-cap US companies. Under strict risk controls, only companies with the largest discount to valuation are included in the portfolio.
