Dies war vor allem dank hoher operativer Flexibilität sowie tieferen Energiepreisen und konsequentem Preismanagement möglich. Obwohl die Volumina im Vergleich zu den Rekordwerten des Vorjahres deutlich rückläufig waren und der Nettoumsatz zudem von stark negativen Währungseffekten beeinflusst war, konnte die Profitabilität gesteigert und in lokalen Währungen ein Gewinnwachstum pro Aktie erzielt werden. Der Nettoumsatz sank um 12,3% auf CHF 2’390 Mio., währungsbereinigt ging er um 7,9% zurück. Der operative Cashflow (EBITDA) erreichte CHF 749 Mio., was einer um 320 Basispunkte auf 31,3% gesteigerten EBITDA-Marge entspricht. Der Gewinn je Aktie nahm um 1,7% auf CHF 15.35 ab; in lokalen Währungen resultierte hingegen eine Zunahme von 5,2%. Für das Gesamtjahr 2023 geht die Unternehmensleitung von einem Rückgang des Nettoumsatzes in lokalen Währungen im mittleren einstelligen Bereich und einer EBITDA-Marge von 29 bis 30% aus.
