Münster, 17 January 2023: acardo group AG (acardo), a wholly owned subsidiary of Vectron Systems AG (Vectron), has gained a new customer from the food retail sector in the form of large-scale operator GLOBUS. For all 62 GLOBUS market halls in Germany, acardo will take over the coupon clearing with immediate effect. The background is a further automation and optimization of the couponing processes, where acardo now also prepares promotion master data for the POS systems. Perfect data is an important success factor, especially for digital touchpoints such as coupons from cell phones. These can now be sent to GLOBUS in an automated way without media disruption, which simplifies processes and makes them less prone to errors.
About Vectron Systems AG: With more than 250,000 POS systems sold to date, the listed Vectron Systems AG is one of the largest European suppliers of POS solutions. Building on this, the area of apps integrated into the POS systems as well as digital and cloud-based services is becoming increasingly important in the catering and bakery sectors. The spectrum of solutions ranges from loyalty and payment functions to omni-channel ordering, online reservations and online reporting. In the retail segment, the wholly owned subsidiary acardo group AG is one of the leading providers of consumer activation tools, such as coupons, cashback solutions and consumer apps in Germany. These are now used in more than 30,000 stores, consisting of grocery stores, drugstores, cinemas and pharmacies. In doing so, acardo offers customers a full service, from conception and technical implementation to coupon clearing. Customers include the largest companies in their respective industries, such as EDEKA, Müller, Nestlé, Unilever, Kellogg's, Krombacher, Coca-Cola, PEPSI, Beiersdorf, Hexal, CinemaxX, Cineplex, Universal and Warner Bros. About GLOBUS: The roots of GLOBUS Markthallen Holding GmbH & Co. KG lie in St. Wendel in the Saarland: in 1828, Franz Bruch founded a small grocery store there, which quickly developed into a wholesaler and, in the 1960s, into a cash & carry market. In 1966, the first large-format supermarket opened in Homburg-Einöd. In the 1980s, Globus Baumärkte was founded, and with German reunification, the company first expanded into eastern Germany, followed shortly afterwards by the Czech Republic and, in the early 2000s, Russia. Today, Matthias Bruch, as Managing Director of GLOBUS Holding, leads the family business in its sixth generation. Within the German retail landscape, GLOBUS successfully belongs to the "little ones among the big ones" and clearly differs from the typical grocery store chain: in-house production, freshness and quality are particularly in focus. In GLOBUS' own master bakeries, specialist butchers, sushi bars and restaurants, genuine craftsmen prepare a variety of foods themselves by hand every day directly on site. Regional and local partnerships play another key role at GLOBUS: each store works with up to 100 producers and craftsmen from the region. The assortment is supplemented by household-related non-food articles as well as a variety of services and events. Living responsibility for people and nature is a matter of course at GLOBUS. This includes the commitment to sustainable partnerships, products and supply chains as well as regional support for associations, schools and social institutions. The activities of GLOBUS Markthallen are complemented by the projects of the non-profit Globus Foundation. It helps young people to open their eyes to their own talents and abilities and to shape a self-determined life. In addition to integration into working life, the Globus Foundation focuses on improving medical care as well as education and training for children and young people in regions where people need support.
