Press Release SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG Supports the Establishment of a New CIGS Thin-Film Factory from ROLTEC in Poland with Vacuum Deposition Equipment Kahl am Main, May 19, 2025 SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG announces its collaboration with ROLTEC in Poland to support the establishment of a new production facility for CIGS thin-film solar modules as part of an EU-funded initiative aimed at strengthening Europe's renewable energy supply chain. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES supplies three advanced vacuum sputtering systems for research, development, and mass production. All systems will be set up in 2025. The PVD sputtering systems are essential for depositing high-quality back contact and buffer layers onto glass substrates. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES offers dry, cadmium-free PVD processes with precise layer control, supporting the manufacture of environmentally friendly and highly efficient CIGS solar modules. While the current focus is on CIGS thin-film technology, both companies have the capability to develop and implement tandem photovoltaic applications in the future. This forward-looking collaboration offers additional potential for efficiency gains and underscores the shared commitment of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES and ROLTEC to innovation and sustainable energy solutions. Background CIGS In thin-film solar technology, copper, indium, gallium, and selenium (CIGS) are combined to form a photoactive semiconductor layer, typically 1–2μm thick, deposited onto large glass panels. CIGS solar cells offer excellent low-light performance, higher efficiency at elevated temperatures, and greater tolerance to shading compared to conventional silicon modules. Their uniform appearance also makes them attractive for architectural integration, such as building facades and rooftops. Future Potential – Tandem PV About Roltec - https://roltec.pl/en/solvoz/ The project includes the construction and launch of a photovoltaic panel production plant, including a production and warehouse hall with a technological annex and a social part, as well as an office building with land development and the necessary technical infrastructure. High-efficiency photovoltaic panels produced in the Wrocław factory will be a response to the growing demand of the renewable energy market. We want to fulfill our Mission to create a more sustainable future. We believe that our business and investment strategy will fit into the framework of the UN and EU Sustainable Development Policy, remaining a permanent basis for our approach to development and operational practices. The proprietary technology implemented and constantly improved at Roltec allows for the commercialization of a revolutionary product that will have a significant advantage in every aspect (price, speed and ease of installation, efficiency, warranty, aesthetics) over silicon cells. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES - Thin Film Technology and Surface Treatment The company's core competencies include coating technology processes (cathode sputtering/PVD/sputtering, PECVD, vapor deposition), surface treatment and wet-chemical and thermal production processes. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES sees sustainability as an opportunity to position itself with innovative products. The focus is on environmental awareness, the efficient use of resources and the avoidance of unnecessary CO2 pollution. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES attaches great importance to responsible and sustainable corporate governance. 1 Lab features are usually functionalities that emerge from the think tank of the investor community. In the early stages, these are experimental functionalities whose development process is largely determined by use and the resulting feedback from the community. When integrating external services or functionalities, the functionality can only be guaranteed to the extent that the individual process elements, such as interfaces, interact with each other.
