Hamburg, April 4th, 2022 - The Hamburg based investment company coinIX GmbH & Co. KGaA, which specializes in investments in digital assets and blockchain technology, invests in Florence Finance. Florence Finance is a protocol that enables financing platforms for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to gain access to crypto liquidity through decentralized finance and crypto loans. With this bridge between the real economy and the crypto world, Florence Finance creates a solution for two problems. First, there is a large funding gap for loans for small and medium-sized enterprises, which amounts to one trillion EUR in Europe alone. Second, there is little sustainable revenue opportunity in the crypto space from issuing loans backed by real assets. To this end, the team behind Florence Finance is working with existing lending platforms for SMEs. To improve the protocol's further usability, integrations with existing decentralized finance protocols such as MakerDAO, Compound and AAVE will be worked on in the future. Chiel Ruiter, Founder of Florence Finance: "DeFi is a Cambrian explosion of innovation that has created the building blocks of the financial system of the future and battle tested them within the crypto domain. The time has come to take these tried & tested building blocks and connect them to real world lending and financial markets, these will be the new frontiers of DeFi and Florence Finance aims to be a trailblazer in that regard in Europe for SMEs."
