Gamescom 2022: Cherry AG meets professional gamers' expectations for high-end hardware

Auerbach/Colone, August 24, 2022 – On the occasion of the Gamescom currently taking place, CHERRY, as Germany's oldest producer of computer input devices, makes it clear that professional gaming is only possible with high-end hardware. Gamescom is the world's largest computer and video games event and Europe's leading business platform for the games industry, which will be held this year from August 23 to 28 in the Cologne exhibition halls. Gamers from all over the world can experience the latest market trends live again for the first time this year. This includes wireless input devices for mobile use that offer the shortest possible latency and direct feedback. Gamers also want a selection of gaming hardware that can meet their specific and individual requirements. "Not every manufacturer can meet these requirements at the same time," explains Rolf Unterberger, CEO of Cherry AG, adding, " The increasing complexity of game control requires particularly precise gaming devices. This especially applies to keyboards and switches."

As a leading global peripheral manufacturer with operational headquarters in Auerbach (in the Upper Palatinate region of Germany), CHERRY is firmly established, especially in the Asian gaming community, and regularly achieves top sales ranks with its own mice and keyboards at regional sales events. CHERRY's high-quality and innovative products have been serving the modern trends and needs of demanding gamers for decades. With a high brand awareness, the company generates a large part of its sales in Asia.

CHERRY recently introduced so-called 60- to 80-percent keyboards in line with the current market trend. "These smaller keyboards are of interest to all gamers who want to use their keyboard in a mobile, universal and professional way, but at the same time do not want to do without the well-known CHERRY quality," says Unterberger. Short latency times also play an important role for the increasingly mobile use of keyboards.

Wireless keyboards from Cherry offer a latency of only about one millisecond

As gaming becomes increasingly mobile, many gamers rely on high-quality and reliable wireless technologies. CHERRY has developed the new "Advanced Wireless" technology for this, which reduces the latency of wireless keyboards to only about one millisecond. "For gamers, this means a big step forward in terms of response time, comfort and individuality of use. Thanks to wireless communication, they are literally completely untethered when using the device," explains Rolf Unterberger. Competitive gamers can now get this special and fast Bluetooth Low-Latency Technology (LLM) not only with the MX 3.0S and the premium MX 8.2S keyboard, but also with the more affordable MX 2.0S model, which recently won the German Design Award.

MX Ultra Low Profile keyboard switches enable top-of-the-line mechanical keyboards in high-performance gaming laptops for the first time

High-performance gaming laptops are also becoming increasingly popular with the e-sports, streaming and creator communities. More and more laptop manufacturers are turning to CHERRY's mechanical and ultra-flat keyboard switches to integrate the feel of a fully mechanical high-end keyboard into their flagship devices, offering users significant added value in terms of input quality. CHERRY MX ULP is considered one of the greatest innovations in today's switch technology. The switches are made of stainless steel and are particularly robust, durable, precise and reliable - with a particularly low height of only 3.5 millimeters. The unique MX Gold Crosspoint contact system offers maximum reliability and durability thanks to the outstanding material properties of gold. CHERRY is the world's only supplier of these ultra-flat mechanical keyboard switches.

CHERRY GAMING team at the Gamescom 2022

CHERRY's GAMING team will also be on site at Gamescom 2022 in Cologne and will present innovative products to selected partners, media representatives and end customers in the exhibition halls. In addition, the latest trends will be followed and advanced gaming mechanics or methods for upcoming input devices, as well as the changing needs of gamers analyzed. Of course, the CHERRY team will also play the latest block buster titles from the established publishers and immerse themselves in the world of gaming to experience the Gamescom feeling live in the middle of the action.
