hep Named a 2023 Top Solar Contractor in the United States

Huntersville, North Carolina, July 31, 2023 – With the United States providing significant federal support of solar and storage in the Inflation Reduction Act, excitement for the technologies is growing at a record pace. Solar developers, installers and contractors are capitalizing on the moment by building more substantial projects across the country. hep was recognized for its increased effort to expand the U.S. market by taking a top spot on Solar Power World’s 2023 Top Solar Contractors List in the solar developer category.

Among the Top Ten

The Top Solar Contractors List is developed each year by industry magazine Solar Power World to honor the work of solar installers in the United States. Solar firms in the utility, commercial and residential markets are ranked by the number of kilowatts they installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific services, markets and states. hep is ranked at No. 9 for the solar developer category.

U.S. Projects

In 2022, hep completed 48.9 MW of solar projects in Oregon, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Comprised primarily of utility-scale projects, the portfolio was highlighted by the 21.4 MW Depot Solar in Rustburg, Virginia – hep’s largest U.S. project to date. A six-project community solar portfolio in Oregon boosted hep to becoming the No. 5 solar developer in the state on the Top Solar Contractors List.

Growing U.S. Solar Market

The U.S. reported its strongest first quarter ever in 2023 for solar panels installed, and the solar market is expected to triple in size over the next five years. hep’s growing development pipeline and EPC capabilities will keep the company at the forefront to meet the demands of a growing solar industry.
