The Baader Investment Conference celebrates its 12th anniversary with impressively high attendance figures The 12th edition of the Baader Investment Conference took place in Munich from 18 to 21 September 2023, with a total of around 230 companies presenting and more than 750 investors from 30 countries attending. This year's event was held exclusively in presence, meaning that the professional and personal dialogue on-site through live lectures, 1-on-1 and group meetings had a decisive influence on the multi-day conference. "The Baader Investment Conference was a very successful event again this year. We were able to meet many good investors of high quality in this professional setting," stated Christian Kohlpaintner, CEO of Brenntag SE. During around 3,000 individual and small group discussions and over 110 forum presentations, (inter)national inves-tors took the opportunity to obtain fresh insights and perspectives from the companies presenting into how their businesses are developing. In total, 26 of the companies in attendance are listed on the German Stock Market Index (DAX), while 37 came from Switzerland and 20 from Austria. "The Baader Investment Conference was an outstand-ing event once again and full of stimulating discussion — that's why it plays an integral role in our interactions with investors", said Dr Burkhard Lohr, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at K+S Aktiengesellschaft. "The Baader Investment Conference is always one of the year's most important dates for us and we are delighted with the continuously high level of interest expressed by investors and the companies represented at the event. As in previous years, our core programme provided a multitude of opportunities that facilitated a lively exchange of views beyond the formal meetings", says Oliver Riedel, Deputy CEO of Baader Bank.
Companies emphasising progress in the use of resources and reduction of CO2 emissions Despite a challenging environment due to low economic growth and rising financing costs, not to mention the re-sulting uncertainty about the broader macroeconomic framework, the majority of the companies presenting were confident about their medium-term earnings outlook. In view of their business models' strong focus on long-term growth trends and transformation issues – such as the energy transition, sustainability and digitalisation – as well as a very strong market position in most business divisions, the managers in attendance were optimistic that they will be able to continue to grow profitably. In this context, many companies reported having achieved significant progress in the use of resources and in reducing their CO2 emissions. Against the backdrop of increasing distortions of competition, the economic policy framework was also discussed extensively with a focus on the safeguarding of business locations (alignment of energy prices with international lev-els, promotion of local production, anti-dumping measures).
The next Baader Investment Conference will take place on 23 to 26 September 2024 in Munich, Germany. Further details can also be found on our website at https://www.baaderinvestmentconference.com.
