Bundeswehr startet den operationellen Betrieb des satellitengestützten Aufklärungssystems SARah mit dem ersten Satelliten

Bremen, 5. Oktober 2023. In dieser Woche hat der operationelle Teilbetrieb des nationalen Aufklärungssystems SARah mit dem Teilsystem Phased Array begonnen. Damit befindet sich der erste von insgesamt drei Satelliten der Konstellation bereits in der Teilnutzung und überträgt Daten an die zum System gehörenden Bodenstationen. Das Teilsystem Phased Array wurde von Airbus Defence and Space in Immenstaad als Hauptunterauftragnehmer realisiert. Das gesamte SARah-System befindet sich beim Hauptauftragnehmer OHB System in Bremen in der Realisierung.
Der erste Satellit war am 18. Juni 2022 mit einer Falcon-9 Trägerrakete gestartet worden, hatte kurz darauf seinen Zielorbit erreicht und die Überprüfung seiner Leistungsfähigkeit erfolgreich bestanden. Die Bundeswehr kann diesen Satelliten nun zu ihren aktuell fünf SAR-Lupe-Satelliten von OHB in ihre militärische Aufklärung integrieren. Die SARah-Satelliten stellen eine verbesserte weltweite und wetterunabhängige Aufklärungsfähigkeit für die Bundeswehr dar. Auch die beiden von OHB realisierten SARah-Radarsatelliten stehen aktuell kurz vor der Fertigstellung und werden in Kürze ebenfalls in ihren Zielorbit verbracht. Diese basieren auf einer Weiterentwicklung der Reflektortechnologie der SAR-Lupe Konstellation. SAR-Lupe ist das erste raumgestützte Aufklärungssystem der Bundeswehr und wird seit 15 Jahren von OHB System in Zusammenarbeit mit OHB Digital Connect operationell betrieben.
