centrotherm als Projektpartner bei TRANSFORM Blaubeuren, 20. Oktober 2021 - Zusammen mit 33 europäischen Projektpartnern koordiniert die Robert Bosch GmbH das europäische Förderprojekt TRANSFORM - Trusted European SiC Value Chain for a greener Economy. centrotherm ist als Projektpartner und führender Anbieter von Hochtemperaturöfen zum Post-Implantation-Annealing von Siliziumcarbid-Wafern an diesem Projekt beteiligt. Gemeinsames Projektziel ist es, die vollständige Wertschöpfungskette vom Substrat bis hin zum Energieumwandler auf Siliziumcarbid-Basis in Europa zu etablieren und zu stärken. Durch den rasant wachsenden Energiebedarf und dem Ziel der Klimaneutralität der Europäischen Union bis 2050 kommt der Energieeffizienz eine zentrale Rolle zu. Der Einsatz von Siliziumcarbid als Halbleiter in der Leistungselektronik ist ein wichtiger Baustein zum Erreichen dieser Ziele, nicht nur in der e-Mobilität. Je nach Anwendung werden Effizienzgewinne zwischen 6 % und 30 % erwartet. Darüber hinaus soll TRANSFORM dazu beitragen, die Wettbewerbsposition der europäischen Technologie auf dem Weltmarkt erheblich zu stärken. centrotherm zählt mit seinen Hochtemperaturöfen zum Post Implantation Annealing von 150 mm Siliziumcarbid (SiC)-Wafer bereits zu den führenden Anbietern. Weltweit laufen centrotherm-Anlagen bei renommierten Herstellern in der Produktion. Bereits beim europäischen Förderprojekt REACTION zur Entwicklung der ersten Fabrik für Siliziumcarbid-Anwendungen auf 200 mm Wafern hat centrotherm als Projektpartner mit der Entwicklung einer neuen Generation des c.ACTIVATOR und c.OXIDATOR beigetragen. Die offizielle Projekt-Website ist seit gestern unter www.sic-transform.eu online. This project has received funding from the ECSEL Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No 101007237. The JU receives support from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic, Spain.
